Col Mayank Farwaha, SM

Colonel Mayank Farwaha, SM is a second-generation Army Officer. He was commissioned in 5 GUARDS and commanded a new raising, 22 GUARDS in the Desert Sector. The officer has served in various command, staff and instructional billets. He has been an APC Platoon Commander in United Nations Mission to Ethiopia and Eretria and Instructor Class B in NDA, Khadakwasla and Indian Army Training Team, Lesotho. He has commanded a Rashtriya Rifles Company in 21 RR (GUARDS) in Handwara, North Kashmir where he was conferred with SM (Gallantry). He has been Bde GSO-1 of an Armoured Brigade and Colonel General Staff of an Armoured Division. He has been commended by the COAS twice and also by CISC. He is an MSc from Madras University and M Phil from Punjabi University. The officer is presently posted as Colonel Strategic Planning (Strategic Studies Global) at Army HQ.
