Captain Alok Bansal is Director of India Foundation. Besides, he is also an Adjunct Professor at New Delhi Institute of Management (NDIM) as well as the Secretary General of Asian Eurasian Human Rights Forum (AEHRF), an organisation accorded ECOSOC status by the UNESCO.He is also a member of the Governing Council of DDU College of Delhi University. He has also been appointed as an Adjunct Professor at Tibetan Study Centre of Central University of Himachal Pradesh. He has also been a Country Expert on Maldives since 2014, for the Varieties of Democracy, a project of University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
He was the Founder Executive Director of the South Asian Institute for Strategic Affairs (SAISA) and the facilitator of India Policy Group (IPG) on Afghanistan for Track II Dialogues by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. He was a Visiting Professor under the Pakistan Studies Programme of Maulana Mohammed Ali Jauhar Academy of International Studies at JamiaMilliaIslamia, New Delhi, a central university.
He has been the Executive Director of the National Maritime Foundation (NMF), a New Delhi based think tank for two years, a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Land Warfare Studies for three years and has worked with the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), New Delhi for over five years. He has also been associated with Jammu Kashmir Study Centre (JKSC), since inception.
His recent book with significance to the topic is Gilgit-Baltistan and its Saga of Unending Human Rights Violations, New Delhi: Pentagon Press LLP, 2018.
