Maj Gen A K Channan, PVSM, SM (Retd), Visiting Fellow, CLAWS, Chairperson
Major General AK Channan is an Artillery officer who has led the Army’s Make in India Initiative over the past few years. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla and the National Defence College, Delhi; the officer graduated from the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and the Higher Command at the Army War College, Mhow.
The officer has held various command and staff appointments largely in operational areas in J&K and the North East during his 37 years of career in the Army. He has been a GSO1 of a CI Sector, GSO 1 in the Perspective Planning Directorate of Indian Army, a Colonel Administration of a Division, Col MS, Brig CD and was the Additional Director General Perspective Planning at Army HQs till he superannuated on 31 August 2020.
General Channan has led the Indian Army’s engagement the Indo-US Defence Trade and Technology Initiative, with Russia at the Defence Industry Conference, with the UK at the DESG and the newly formed Capability Development Dialogue and various Joint Working Groups with South Africa, France, Israel, South Korea, Belarus and Ukraine.
He represented Indian Army in various committees like the Dhirendra Singh Committee for Make in India Defence, Pritam Singh Study to overhaul the acquisition system, Formulation Team for DPP 2016 and DPP 2020. The General Officer was part of the team which created the iDEX platform, drafted the pathbreaking Make 2 procedure was the mentor for scouting and proliferation of all in house innovation in the Indian Army.
Mr PS Didyala, Senior Partner, Accenture
Mr Prabhjit Singh Didyala is a Senior Partner in a management consulting and business services firm that is a leader in digital and at the intersection of business and technology. He has worked in multiple companies in consulting and in the industry – Strategy Head for Fortis Healthcare, Project Manager at Boston Consulting Group, E.I. DuPont, and at Tata Cummins. He is Mechanical Engineering (from BIT Mesra) and an MBA (from IIM Lucknow), and a gold medalist at both places.
Mr Didyala specializes in digital and analytics-driven transformation in businesses and ways of working to drive significant and sustainable value.
Mr Didyala is also visiting faculty at IIM Lucknow for the PGP and Executive MBA courses, at IIM Indore for the PGP course, and at MDI Gurgaon in the areas of Strategic Management, Organizational Design and Marketing Management.
Maj Gen (Dr.) P Bishnoi, VSM (Retd), ex DDG, MO; Dy Comdt & CI, MCTE, Mhow
Maj General Pritam Bishnoi, VSM was commissioned on 09 Jun 1984 in the Corps of Signals. He is an M Tech in Communication Systems from IIT Roorkee, M Sc (Defense Strategy from Madras University), Master in Management Science (Osmania University), M Phil in Strategic Management (Osmania University), Ph D in Economics (Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya) and M Phil in Defence and National Security Strategy (Madras University). During his 37 years of service in the Indian Army, he has vast experience of command, staff and instructional appointments in the field of communication and information technology, cyber security, military use cases in niche technologies like 5G, IoT, AI, Cloud Computing, Blockchain and VR/AR. He had worked in policy formulation in respect of cyberspace, communication, information systems, electronic warfare and information Warfare during his tenure in the Military Operations Directorate.
He has also undertaken various faculty development programs on Communication Networks and Information Systems, Cyber Security, Emerging Technology and MIS in IIT Delhi, IIT Indore, IIM Indore, IIM Ahmedabad and IISc Bangalore for the last 37 years. 2. He has published ten research papers and has authored a few books too. Presently he is working as an advisor for Military and Strategic Affairs in BECIL, a PSU under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
He has been involved in preparation of Army Cyber Security Policy and Information Warfare training policy for Indian Army. He has been the Chairman of Army Institute of Technology, Pune from 2018 to 2020. In addition, he has contributed significantly in completion of various projects amounting to around Rs 3000 Cr.
Mr Sanjeev Chauchan, Director and CTO, Oracle
Sanjeev Chauhan is Senior Director and Field CTO for Oracle’s Technology Business. He is a technologist with extensive experience in Enterprise Architecture, Software Development, Open Source, Infrastructure/ Datacenter Design. Sanjeev has worked with IT majors like Tata Infotech, Pentasoft and Red Hat before joining Oracle in 2008.
In his current role as Head – Technology Business Solution engg and Chief Technology Officer, Sanjeev and his team help Organizations with Architecture best practices and support them during the complete lifecycle of technology adoption.
