Abstract
The Russian Air Base at Khmeimim and the Naval base at Tartus, both in Western Syria, reserved their place in history on 05 January 2018 as military assets on which took place the first-ever documented swarm drone attack. This marked the beginning of a journey that would soon ‘explode’ into a revolution of drone power play. The rest is history.
Seven years down the line, both these bases are in news again—This time through a strange embrace of personalities who still very recently were stark enemies.
This brief piece brings out why such a development has come to a pass.
