Abstract
The Indian Army’s quest for the light commando Bhairav Battalions (BBs) is part of force restructuring with the induction of a lean special force that is agile and technologically superior. It comprises of integrated composition from all sister arms of the Infantry for multi-domain approach to fulfill the requirements of modern warfare. This restructuring is aimed at filling the operational gap between Parachute Special Forces (PARA SFs) and Infantry Battalions. They are also likely to relive PARA SFs of the tactical and operational roles.
